Previous Golf Betting Tips

We put up four outsiders in Hills 72 hole match betting list this week.In our opinion Hills justification of making Villegas,Johnson,Garcia and Cabrera warm favourites in these matches is their reputations and not their current form.Haas,Wi,Bryd and Kuchar have been playing better golf recently and deserve our support.

Outcome

This week is not one to get to heavily involved with 18 hole match play being a bit of a lottery and the only other event on the US tour having limited course form.We suggest Toms at 80/1 and Donald at 40/1 for a bit of interest.Both have decent match play records and look reasonably priced.

Outcome

Toms disappointingly withdrew after a first round victory.Donald also bit the dust early giving us a poor run for our money.

Sabbatini has impressed us in recent weeks with a string of quality performances.Interestingly a number of those performances have been in events that he has had a poor track record in.He is obviously a guy at the top of his game.He won this event 2 years ago and was 9th last year.We think he is worth a good bet this week and would not be surprised to see him trot up.Garcia and Stricker have been playing quality golf of late but Garcia has by far the better course form.He looks a good bet over 72 holes to see off Stricker.

Outcome

We avoid the Indian Masters this week as we have no course form to go on.Having been through the match bets available in the AT & T we have been unable to identify any worthwhile opportunities.As our only bet this week we suggest an interest on Greg Owen outright at 150/1.He`s a massive price for a guy who has finished in the top 4 twice in the last 3 years.

Outcome

No joy for us this week with Owen missing the cut.

Els has a record second to none in this event having finished in the top 2 in 5 out of the last 6 years.However his recent suspect nerve when in contention on a Sunday means he will not be carrying our money this week.Woods and Stenson(narrowly failed to land the odds for us last week)are the 2 form golfers on their respective tours.Last year Woods finished third beaten 2 shots by Stenson.This year Woods is a red hot favourite at evens with Stenson best priced 11/1.Surely 11/4 a place on Stenson has to be a better bet than Woods at evens to win with a good chance of Stenson winning anyway.Play up some of this years winning and have a decent bet on Stenson.

Outcome

Stenson lost the plot big style during Sundays round when in contention.Resulting in a very frustrating week for us.

Stensons last three years event form reads 2/1/7 against Westwoods dnp/mc/34.So in our book Stenson is a warm favourite over 72 holes.We suggest a serious punt.We also think he is worth an interest in the outright market, 11/1 looks like an each way bet to nothing.

Outcome

Stenson shot an excellant 65 on Sunday and still found himself 3 shots behind the tournament winner Adam Scott who he had started the day one shot ahead!!!His second place still meant we made a small return on the place side of our each way bet.He also beat Westwood over 72 holes to land our match bet.

Calcavecchia looked as though he was struggling with his back last week and can be confidently taken on with Parnevik over 72 holes.Jesper has won this event in the past and generally plays well in pro ams, we expect him to land our first 5 star bet of 2008.

Outcome

A comfortable win for us with the result never really in doubt.

Jerry Kelly is worth an interest this week.His event form reads 13/13/mc/5/won.Although as with most of the field we have to assume he is fit and focused as its his first tournament of the year, odds of 75/1 make it a worthwhile risk.Lets hope we get as good a start as we did to last year and that 2008 is as profitable.

Outcome

A good final round saw Kelly secure 3rd place and ensure we started 2008 with a decent pay day.

The market leaders Singh and Furyk are poor value at around 6/1.Singh especially as his end of 2007 form was very poor.As the remainder of the field have very little course from between them we are struggling to identify a worthwhile betting opportunity.
